Pictures: Host rock and contact relations

Brecciated basement near the western margin of the Skaergaard intrusion, south coast of Kraemer Island. The breccia has angular as well as deformed mafic clasts in a leucosome matrix and appears to have formed during partial melting (anatexis). The breccia is cut by later granophyric dikes and veins.
